Services Held For Mrs. Lillie Hamblin

Funeral services for Lillie Leona Hamblin of Macksburg were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 17, at the United Methodist Church of Macksburg of which she was a member. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery with Rev. John Ackerman officiating. Mrs. Hamblin died at the age of 98 on Friday, August 24, at Villa West Care Center in Winterset.

Born on November 23, 1880 in Webster Township, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mahala Shaw Kirkland. She was married to Hannibal "Ham" Hamblin on January 31, 1904 at the Macksburg Methodist Church parsonage. He preceded her in death in 1961.

Mrs. Hamblin spent her first 15 years of married life on farms north of Macksburg before moving to town in 1919 where she lived until going to the nursing home in 1972.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.
