Funeral services for Karen L. Haines, 54, were held Sat. June 27 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. she died June 23, 1992 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, of complications of a January 11 heart transplant.

A Winterset resident for most of her life, she was born March 10, 1938 at Lehigh to Lester Ray and Sarah Geraldine (Moon) Hollingsworth. She had been employed as activity director of a nursing home and was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, two sons and a grandson.

Surviving are her mother; her companion, Richard Rinard; and a daughter, Sarah Hoff, all of Winterset.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
