Edith M. Haines Died at Age 76

Edith M. Haines, a long-time resident of Madison County died here last Tuesday, November 27. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Haines was born in Stark County, Illinois on March 17, 1897, the daughter of John W. and Nannie Biggs Graves. She came to Madison County with her parents at the age of seven.

She was married to Ollie H. Haines at her parents' home on July 26, 1916. Her husband preceded her in death in 1967.

Mrs. Haines was affiliated with the Zion Federated Church. She was a member of the Scott Township Community Circle.

She is survived by three children: Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Wright of Winterset; Merle D. Haines of Bloomington, Minn.; and Lyle W. Haines of Truro. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ham, also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, J. Earl Graves.

Funeral services were held at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, with Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
