Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Hain, a former Winterset resident were held a the Tidricks Funeral home last Thursday afternoon, March 9th at 3 o'clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Mrs. Hain, who was 66 years of age, was born January 30, 1867. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Kelly. Her husband, Charles F. Hain, died a number of years ago. For several years Mrs. Hain worked at the North Side. She had recently been making her home with her niece, Mrs. Nellie Cline and died at the Broadlawns General hospital.
Rev. R. C. Cully, pastor of the Presbyterian church conducted her funeral services and six nephews served as pall bearers.
_______________________Coordinator's note: The deceased had many first names scattered through her vital records but "Lois" was not one of them. Her Iowa Death Certificate has "Lue", her Polk County marriage record and her 1895 census record have "Lucy" and her 1880 census record has "Lurry". Several other records have "Lou" and in the 1870 Madison County census, she was "Louis". We have no way to know what her true given name was so we have opted to go with what is on the death certificate from which we also took her maiden name.
