Garage Operator Had Lived At Bevington for 17 Years
Garland O. Hagen of Bevington died at his home there Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the age of 52 years.
Mr. Hagen had lived at Bevington the last 17 years, operating a garage there. He was a native of Decatur county, where he was born March 6, 1911, a son of John F. and Nellie Dunbar Hagen.
He was married Oct. 10, 1930 to Georgia Louise Ingram of Decatur county. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and formerly was a member of the V.F.W. post in Des Moines.
Surviving are his wife; seven children, Mrs. Eugene Strable of Des Moines, Wayne and Cleo Hagen of West Des Moines, Francis, Bing and Bill Hagen of Bevington and Donald Hagen of Indianola; 12 grandchildren; his grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Dunbar of Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Adair of Leon; and three brothers, Francis Hagen of Patterson, Doyle Hagen of Bayard and Shelby Hagen of Van Wert.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset in charge of the Rev. Howard Cho of St. Charles. Burial will be made in the St. Charles cemetery.
