Susan Fenimore Young Hagen, 78, of San Antonio, Texas, died May 20, 2001, at her home in San Antonio following a long illness. A funeral service was held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio on May 22, followed by cremation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Peru with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at Peru Cemetery. The family will greet friends at a lunch to be served at the church following the committal services.
Susan Hagen was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Walnut Township (near Peru) to Grover and Rae (Hoover) Fenimore. A 1940 graduate of Peru High School, she married Lloyd S. Young of Des Moines in 1941. Susan lived and worked as a secretary in Des Moines most of her adult life. In 1966, she married Lee Hagen. In 1972, following retirement, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas. After Mr. Hagen's death in 1994, she moved to San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, an infant son and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Young Duante of San Antonio; a sister, Jean Porter of St. Charles; two brothers, Paul Fenimore of Ephrata, Wash. and Bill Fenimore of Chicago, Ill.; five sisters-in-law, Artie Fenimore of Mitchellville, Carolyn Fenimore of Indianola, Beverly Fenimore of Urbandale, Ellen Fenimore of Ephrata, Wash., and Gayle Fenimore of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
