Thursday, April 9, 1936Mrs. Margaret McNamara, who for 70 years made her home on a farm south of Booneville, died at the home of her son, Martin McNamara, at Indianola, on April 2. She was 85 years old.
Mrs. McNamara was born in Kingston, New York in 1851. At the age of 6 years, she moved with her parents to a farm near Des Moines. She was married to Michael McNamara in 1867. They moved to the farm south of Booneville where she lived until six years ago when she went to Indianola, to make her home with her son.
She leaves six children: Frank McNamara of Booneville, Martin McNamara of Indianola, John McNamara of Des Moines, Mrs. Pat King of Cumming, Mrs. Tom Swallow of Des Moines, and Mrs. Homer Bales of Van Meter. One daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held in St. John's Catholic church in Cumming conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Father James McDonald. Interment was made in the Cumming cemetery.
