CORA E. BARDRICK DIED LAST FRIDAY

Widow of Bert Bardrick Who Succumbed Last October

Mrs. Cora Bardrick, widow of the late Bert Bardrick, died at her home northwest of Winterset last Friday. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Bardrick had spent most of her life in Madison county and was widely known. She was the former Cora E. Read and was born near Winterset on May 28, 1868. As a child she moved with her parents to Nebraska, then back to Adair county, and later back to Madison county.

She taught school for a short time, and then came to Winterset where she attended the high school, graduating with the class of 1888. For several years she was a teacher in the Madison county schools.

She was married to George A. Bardrick on February 3, 1895. Most of their married life was spent on their farm northwest of Winterset. Mr. Bardrick died last October.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Bardrick had united with the Methodist church in Winterset under the pastorate of the Rev. Richard Matheny.

Mrs. Bardrick leaves four sisters: Mrs. Laverna Garretson, Mrs. Emma E. Young, and Mrs. Mabel Richardson, all of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. A. F. Gaffrier of Salem, Ore.; and three brothers: Arch E. Read of Des Moines, John C. Read of Calome, South Dakota, and Charles E. Read of Salem, Ore.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Methodist church in Winterset in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. R. Talley. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
