FORMER TRURO RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Wilma Guthrie, a former resident of Truro, died Aug. 20 in a Des Moines hospital. She was 70 years of age.

Mrs. Guthrie was born May 2, 1898, in Lucas county, a daughter of Daniel and Nellie Morton Scherdin. She was married to Wilbert Guthrie at Osceola in 1924.

Her life was spent at Truro and in Texas, and for the last 13 years as a resident of Des Moines.

She was a member of the Methodist church and of the order of Eastern Star at New Virginia.

Her husband preceded her in death. She leaves two sons, Keith Guthrie of Norwalk and Norman Guthrie of Fritch, Tex.; a brother, Lou Scherdin of Sierraville, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Marie Pitts of Marbury, Md.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Murray cemetery.
