ERNEST O. GUYE, 81, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Ernest O. Guye, aged 81, former Winterset resident, died Thursday, January 25th, at his home in Yucaipa, California, after several years of failing health. Mr. Guye was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Riley Guye of Union township and lived here until he was a young man.

He later moved to Des Moines, where he resided for thirty years. He was an employee of the Burlington Railroad, until he retired in 1945, and moved to Yucaipa.

Funeral services for Mr. Guye were held at the Emerson Funeral home, Monday, January 29th, and burial was at Yucaipa.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, two sons and a sister, Mrs. Nora Clark, all of California. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Two of his cousins reside in Winterset, Mrs. Beatrice Thompson and Elbridge V. Guye.
