1978Tom Gunter Died Last Wednesday
Thomas C. Gunter, died Wednesday, March 29, 1978, at Memorial Hospital. He was a resident at 109 East Lane in Winterset, a farmer in this county for 47 years. He also was self employed as an air conditioning and refrigeration workman.
Tom Gunter was born January 6, 1909 in Fayette, Alabama, the son of James and Indiana Savanah Fowler Gunter. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Hircock on July 21, 1933 in Des Moines. She survives her husband.
Mr. Gunter was affiliated with the First Christian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Besides his wife, Sarah, of Winterset, survivors include three sons, Robert Duane of Florissant, Mo., Eugene Colon of Weldon, Iowa and Larry Thomas of Kennesaw, Ga.; a daughter, JoAnn Sirdoreus of Grandview, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and three sisters, Merle Raynor of Fallbrook, Calif., Carrie Lindsey of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mabel Long of North Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services for Thomas Gunter were held Saturday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Homel, Rev. Phil Hall of Winterset officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
