Services for George Wendall Hill, 62, Winterset, who died May 25 at Des Moines General Hospital, will be held Thursday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial will be at the McDonald-Chase Cemetery.

Born at New Virginia, on Nov. 14, 1922, he was the son of Charles Martin and Mayola Connor Hill. He was a carpenter and was self-employed for the past several years. He also worked for Tyer Bros. construction for 18 years.

Mr. Hill had lived here since 1947, coming from Warren County. He was married to Doris Cunningham on June 14, 1947 at Indianola.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Chuck of Winterset; daughters, Beanne Hill and Cathy Hill, both of Des Moines; Marcia Green of Ames; brothers, Max of Martensdale, John of Denver, Colo., and Clark of South Bend, Ind.; a sister, Grace Weeks of New Virginia; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
