1967ARTHUR GRIMES DIES SUDDENLY
Peru Farmer Stricken Fatally While Working in Field
James Arthur Grimes of Peru, a life-long resident of Madison county, died suddenly Friday, Aug. 4. He was stricken fatally at the Loren Farr farm near Patterson, where he was helping with the farm work.
His death occurred just 10 days after the death of his brother, Henry C. Grimes of St. Charles.
Mr. Grimes was 73 years of age at his death. He was a son of George W. and Penelope Imes Grimes, and was born in this county July 30, 1894. He was married to Alice McKeever Oglesbee.
Mr. Grimes was a member of the Peru Methodist church.
Surviving are a stepson, Carl Oglesbee of Alvord, Tex.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Grimes of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. James Nicholson of Truro. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
