Rites At Truro For C. V. Grimes

Funeral services for Charles V. Grimes were held this Tuesday, March 26, from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro.

Mr. Grimes died March 23, 1974 at his home near St. Charles. He was 81 years of age.

A son of George Washington and Penelope Imes Grimes, he was born in Madison County on December 17, 1892. He attended county schools, and on March 8, 1916 was married at Winterset to Florence Henthorn.

Mr. Grimes farmed all his adult life in Madison County.

Surviving are his wife; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.

Officiating at the funeral this Tuesday was the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was in Ebenezer cemetery south of Peru.
