ROBERT GRIFFITH DIED LAST TUESDAY

Former Resident Here Had Lived at Iowa Falls Since 1951

Funeral services were held from the Anderson Funeral Home in Iowa Falls Friday morning, September 10th at 10:30 for Robert Griffith who died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Rev. Rollin G. Oswold officiated at the service. Burial was in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery near Winterset at 1:30.

Robert William Griffith was born at Winterset, June 20, 1908, the son of Ersie and Edna Chase Griffith. He was educated in the Madison county schools. On August 19, 1931, he was married to Theodora Houseman at Bethany, Missouri. The couple moved to the Iowa Falls area in 1951. He served in the army during World War II and for the past 30 years has been employed by the Weaver Construction company.

He was a member of the Methodist church, Central State Gun Collection association, North Central Iowa Coon Hunters association, and for many years was a member of the National Rifle association.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Sharon Sue of Iowa Falls, his mother, Mrs. Edna Griffith of Winterset; two brothers, Paul and Wayne W. of Winterset; and two sisters, Kathryn Haymond of Macksburg and Mary Busch of Los Angeles, 6 nieces and 4 nephews.
