WINTERSET NATIVE DIES IN TEXAS

L. J. Greer, a native of Winterset, died Thursday, July 4, at a hospital in Dallas Tex., according to word received here.

Mr. Greer was a son of Thomas and Sarah Kirkland Greer, former Madison county residents. His early life was spent in Winterset, but he moved to Omaha with his parents and spent most of his active life there.

Upon retirement he moved to Dallas, Tex., to be near his daughter and family, Dr. and Mrs. Shoecraft and their three children. He also leaves a son, Col. Frank Greer and family of Cleveland, O., who is now retired after 25 years of service in the U.S. army.

Mr. Greer was a nephew of the late W. W. Greer of Winterset.

Funeral services and burial were to be held in Dallas.
