July 26, 1972Myrtle Greer Dies At Age 94
Myrtle Greer of Winterset died last Wednesday in the Madison County Memorial Hospital at age 94. She had lived in Madison county since 1930 and was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
Mrs. Greer was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, the White Shrine, W.S.C.S. and was active in church affairs. She was born in Warren County July 28, 1877 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gorden Bloom. Mrs. Greer was married to the Rev. Charles S. Fair in 1897 at her parents home in Milo. Rev. Fair died in 1916.
In 1930 Mrs. Greer married W. W. Greer in Winterset. Mrs. Greer is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ina Long of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. W. Greer, two children, Myron and Pauline Fair who died in infancy, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral was held last Saturday afternoon at Collins Funeral Home at Winterset with the Rev. Walter A. Samp in charge. Burial was made at the Belmond Cemetery in Milo.
