Services for Lavona "Sunny" Pearl Greenwalt, 60, Greenfield, who died Sept. 25 at the Adair County Hospital were held Monday, Sept. 28 at the Greenfield Gospel Chapel with the Rev. John Guikema of Greenfield officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.
Born in Carbon, Iowa on May 7, 1927, she was born to Charles and Dolly Hayes Dixon. She was a graduate of Thompson's Beauty School in 1966, worked as a beautician and taught cosmetology at Hair Tech in Creston. She was married to Virgil Greenwalt on Dec. 13, 1969 at Atlantic.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women's Bowling League in Greenfield.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Betty Ann Scrivner of Macksburg, Debra Lee Stocker and husband Robert of Mesa, Ariz., and Sheryl E. Phipps and husband Scott of Creston; a son, Cecil Ethington and wife Louise of LeMoore, Calif.; eight grandchilden; a sister, Grace Thompson of Des Moines and a brother, Emil Dixon of Pontiac, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
