1979Greenman Funeral At St. Charles
Funeral services for Wilbur Laverne Greenman, 61, of St. Charles were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the United Methodist Church in St. Charles. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery with Rev. Rolland C. Towell officiating. Mr. Greenman died April 27 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Born on September 2, 1917, in Athens Township, Ringgold County, he was the son of Clifford C. and Bessie Reynolds Greenman. He attended Ringgold County schools and on October 23, 1945, was married to Alice Lou Myers in Kansas City, Kan.
An employee of AMF Manufacturing and Lawn & Garden Company for 25 years, Mr. Greenman was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at St. Charles, Masonic Lodge No. 315 AF & AM, and the United Methodist Church in St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Surviving are his wife, Lou; a son, David Beede of Des Moines; three sisters, Wilma Swank of Kellerton, Edna Gibson of Slater and Alice Laue of Burlington, Colo., and two brothers, Carlton Greenman of Des Moines and Roger Greenman of Prairie City.
