One of Madison county's centenarians, Lulu Richardson, died May 25 at Madison county Memorial hospital. She was 100 years, one month and 13 days of age.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson were held Tuesday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral home in Winterset.
A daughter of George and Sarah Kephart Shaver, she was born April 12, 1885. She was a life-long resident of Madison county.
She married Carey Palmer in Earlham on Dec. 30, 1903, and he died in 1941. She married Henry Richardson in Des Moines in 1944, and he died in 1960.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Rebecca lodge at Earlham, and the Methodist church.
Surviving are three step-daughters, Bernadine King of Des Moines, Hazel Richardson of California, and Mildred Anderson of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, two brothers and seven sisters.
Mrs. Richardson was a resident of Care Center North in Winterset.
Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. Byron Ayers, of First United Methodist church. Burial was in Fairview cemetery north of Winterset.
