JOHN WETZEL Of Peru Dies At 86 Years

John E. Wetzel, a long-time resident of the Peru community, died at his home in Peru, May 13, 1960. He was 86 years of age.

Mr. Wetzel was born near Peru and spent his early life there. He moved to northern Iowa in 1905, returning here in 1938.

He was married March 17, 1926, to Daisy L. Parkins. They were parents of three children. His wife preceded him in death in 1957. Two children by a previous marriage preceded him in death also.

He leaves five children, Mrs. Ruby Timmie of Malden, Ill., Mrs. Lela Quinlan of Waterloo, Cecil Wetzel of St. Charles, Chancey Wetzel of Winterset and Mrs. Wanda Janes of Des Moines; a foster daughter, Mrs. Hugh Gordon of Minneapolis, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and four step-children, Everett and Carrol Schreiber of Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Fulkerson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mabel Smith of Truro.
