JAMES GRAY OF DES MOINES DIES

Long-Time Resident of This County Died at Age of 62 Years

James T. Gray of Des Moines, member of a well-known family in Madison county, died Saturday, March 25, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Gray was a son of Walter T. and Mae E. Hartman Gray and was born at Winterset Nov. 28, 1904. Much of his life was spent in this community, but he had moved to Des Moines in 1954. He was employed by the Firestone Rubber company there.

He was married at Patterson Dec. 4, 1927, to Bernice Campfield, who survives him.

Mr. Gray was a member of the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, Bernard Gray of Madison County, Jack Gray of Norwalk and Mrs. Paul Bailey of Prole. He also leaves 10 grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerald Gray of Rockford, Ill., and Ray Gray of Patterson.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Paul Hasel of Easton Place Community church in Des Moines. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
