Resident of This County Most of Life Was 92 Years of Age
William Graspy of Winterset died this Wednesday, April 3, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vira Waltz. He was 92 years of age.
Mr. Graspy was a retired farmer, and had lived in Madison county most of his life. He was a native of Indiana, where he was born in Brown county, April 1, 1871, a son of I. P. and Lizzie Cooper Graspy.
He was married April 2, 1893, to Julia Hamner. She preceded him in death.
He leaves five sons, Forrest Graspy of Red Oak, Wallace Graspy of Bevington, Everett and Amos Graspy of Des Moines, and Ivan Graspy of California; the daughter, Mrs. Waltz of Winterset; 11 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 3:30 p.m. from the Collins funeral home, conducted by the Rev. R. L. Lehmann, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran church of Winterset. Burial will be made in Union Chapel cemetery.
