Wyman Graham, Orient

Wyman Lee Graham, 84, of Orient died March 20, 2005, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Funeral services were held Thursday March 24 at the Orient United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Hoff officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg with military rites performed by Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post 265 and V.F.W. Post 5357.

Wyman Graham was born Jan. 1, 1921 to Robert and Mabel (Stewart) Graham of Macksburg. He was a 1938 graduate of Macksburg Consolidated School and a World War II veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Pacific islands. On July 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to Shirley L. Hayman in Pasadena, Calif. They moved to Orient in 1947. Wyman farmed in the Adair County area for over 50 years. He was a member of the Orient United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Orient Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Arlie, Earl and Russell Graham; and two sisters, Lorene Ross and Dorothy Vogel.

He is survived by two sons, Ken Graham and Bill Graham, both of Orient; one daughter, Mary Weinstein of Hopkinton, Mass.; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Steen Funeral Homes of Fontanelle, Greenfield and Massena.
