Hazel Isabelle Findley, 85, of Oak Harbor, Wash., died May 25, 2006.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Brethren Cemetery near Dallas Center. In case of inclement weather, services will be at the Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Legion Hall in Dallas Center following the service.
Hazel Findley was born April 8, 1921, in Dallas County to Tom and Lola Mash. On Sept. 4, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald Findley. They resided on a farm 10 miles southwest of Winterset, where they raised their children before retiring to DeQueen, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Ivan; one grandson, Wendell; a great-granddaughter, Nicole; and 10 siblings.
She is survived by three daughters, Julia Brooks of New Braunfels, Texas, Kathy Darms of Laveen, Ariz., and Donna McCallon of Oak Harbor, Wash.; two sisters, Louise Scott of Tucson, Ariz., and Joanne Thomas of Dallas Center; and 17 grandchildren, 37 great-granchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Hazel’s name to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Transplant Association.
Arrangements were handled by Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center.
