Macksburg Rites for Mrs. Elga Wheeler

Funeral services for Mrs. Elga Wheeler were held last Saturday Jan. 14, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist church in Macksburg.

Mrs. Wheeler died last Thursday, Jan. 1, 1978, at
the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. She was 58 years of age.

She had lived in Madison county all of her life before moving to Creston in 1967.

Mrs. Wheeler was a clerk at the Farm and Home Supply store in Creston.

Rev. John H. Ackerman officiated at the funeral. Burial was in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

Doris Mildred McMains was born in Madison county, Oct. 6, 1919. She was the daughter of Lloyd C. and Anna M. Russell McMains. She was married at Creston, Oct. 8, 1935, to Elga Wheeler, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Lattig of Macksburg and Mrs. Glen (Janet) Walston of Bedford; eight grandchildren, and four brothers, Arthur McMains of Litchfield, Minn., Luther McMains of Des Moines, Richard McMains of Portage, Wis., and Cleo (Coker) McMains of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.

She was a member of the Lorimor United Methodist church and of the Royal Neighbors of America.
