1976Amanda Goodman Died Sunday
A resident of Madison County nearly half a century, Amanda Pehrson Goodman, 87, died Sunday, October 31, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was born January 13, 1889 in Bergen, Norway.
The daughter of Alfred and Mathilda Pehrson, Mrs. Goodman was married to William Thomas Goodman on December 13, 1911 in Dows, Iowa.
A housewife Mrs. Goodman was affiliated with the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Winterset.
Survivors include five daughters, Alice Robison, Parsons, Kansas; Darlene Tucker, Branson, Missouri; Clara Chickering, Casa Grande, Arizona; Virginia Goettsch, Casa Grande, Arizona; Mary VanderVoort, Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, William Goodman, Winterset; Lester Goodman, Murray, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Also surviving is one twin sister, Amalia Pehrson Nistad of Bergen, Norway. Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for Amanda Pehrson Goodman were conducted Wednesday, November 3, at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Robert Toso officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
