GARNER WATTS Of Winterset Dies

Garner C. Watts of near Winterset, a prominent Madison county farmer, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 1972, at Memorial hospital here. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Watts was born in Polk county Oct. 8, 1902, a son of John and Kathryn McCaulley Watts. He had been a resident of Madison county for 44 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township.

Mr. Watts was married at St. Patrick's church on Jan. 31, 1928, to Clara C. Lynch, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Raymond J. Watts of Des Moines and John M. Watts of Winterset; and a daughter, Mrs. Donald F. Johnson of Des Moines.

He also leaves six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Dan Maher of Mingo, Mrs. James Mulvihill of Cumming, and Mrs. John J. Kiernan of Booneville; and a brother, John T. Watts of Norwalk.

Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Patrick's Catholic church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Bergman.

Rosary was recited for the deceased Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset with the requiem mass Saturday from St. Patrick's Catholic church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Bergman. Burial was made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
