Wednesday, April 20, 1938MRS. MICHAEL LOFTUS Died at Des Moines Hospital
Mrs. M. Loftus, well known woman of near Bevington, died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines early Tuesday after several months of illness. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Loftus, who lived one and one-half miles north of Bevington, was the former Kate Hanrahan and was a life-long resident of that community.
Mrs. Loftus was well-known throughout her community. In addition to her husband, a successful and prosperous farmer, she is survived by one brother, Frank H. Hanrahan of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. McCuen of Oakland, and Mrs. John Wiedman.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Patrick's church in charge of the Rev. P. J. Casey of Churchville.

Mrs. Mike Loftus, 75, died Tuesday morning at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines where she had been a patient for the past four weeks. She had been in ill health for the past two years, being in a serious condition for the last two months.
Mrs. Loftus, the daughter of Andrew and Bridget Hanrahan, was born December 30, 1862. She came to Lee township with her parents when a very small child from Binghamton, New York, and remained there until her marriage to Mike Loftus of Bevington, October 23, 1903.
She is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. J. W. McCume of Oakland, California; Mrs. John Weidman of Prole; one brother, Frank Hanrahan of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held this morning, Thursday at nine o’clock at St. Patrick’s church, Irish Settlement conducted by her pastor, the Rev. P. J. Casey of Churchville. Burial was made in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
