Julia A. Gordon of Winterset died Thursday, June 30, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 2, at Foursquare Gospel Church with Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Born on March 23, 1899, in Cresco, Iowa, she was the daughter of Albertus and Birdetta Stowell Ritter. She married Clarence Gordon on September 16, 1917. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1974. She was a homemaker in Winterset most of her life and a member of Foursquare Gospel Church.
Survivors include her son Francis of Leawood, Kans., her daughter Gloria Slater of Des Moines, her half brother, Jerry Moore of Greenfield, two stepsisters; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Clarence and a brother.
