Services for Mary King. 94, Winterset, who died April 1, 1990, at the Bethesda Care Center, were held Wednesday morning, April 4, at the St. John's Catholic Church at Cumming with the Rev.f. John Ryan and the Rev. Phillip Lawler officiating. Burial was at the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement in rural Cumming.
Born in Madison County on May 24, 1895, she was the daughter of William and Julia Maher King. She was a housekeeper for priests for 60 years and lived most of her life in Madison County, and served as housekeeper at Woodbine, Stuart, St. Marys, Cumming, the former St. Augusta convent in Des Moines, and the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement.
She spent the past 13 years in a nursing home.
Survivors include a brother, James King of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
