MARGARET KIERNAN THOMPSON Dies In California

Margaret Kiernan Thompson was born March 29, 1895 in Jefferson Township, Madison County, Iowa. She was the daughter of James Kiernan and Elizabeth Ryan Kiernan and grew up on the family farm.

In April of 1930 she married John A. Thompson. They lived in Des Moines, Florida and California.

Mrs. Thompson died May 25, 1977 in La Jolla, California, at the age of 82. A funeral Mass was held May 28 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the Irish Settlement with the Reverend James Kiernan of Des Moines officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Peter, James and Thomas, and one sister, Elizabeth.

She is survived by her husband, John A. Thompson, of LaJolla, California, one brother, John Kiernan of Des Moines, three sisters, Mrs. Frances Doty of La Jolla, California, Mrs. Lenore Schulte of Coral Gables, Florida, and Sister Mary Juanita Kiernan of Carroll, Iowa
