FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR MRS. GOODE

Sudden Heart Attack Is Fatal to Winterset Resident

Mrs. Harley H. Goode, a well known Winterset resident, died at Memorial hospital last Wednesday, Oct. 11, after a brief illness. She had been stricken with a heart condition at her home a few hours earlier.

Mrs. Goode was 69 years of age, and had lived in this community for 33 years. She was employed as a clerk at the Graham Department store in Winterset for many years.

She was the former Malvern Lewis, daughter of John and Ida Mae Borrell Lewis, and was born Aug. 18, 1891, at Indianola. She was married Dec. 22, 1909, at Carlisle to Harley H. Goode.

She was a member of the Methodist church, the Pythian Sisters, and the American Legion Auxiliary here.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mulhousen of Gentry, Ark., and Mrs. Bessie Williams of Carlisle; and a brother, Pearl Lewis of Carlisle.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Winterset Rites for Mrs. Goode

Funeral services for Mrs. Harle Goode were held Friday at Winterset, with burial in the Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Goode was Mis Malvern Lewis prior to her marriage and spent her girlhood in Carlisle.

She suffered a fatal heart attack Wednesday, October 19.

Among those attending the funeral services from here were Her sister, Mrs. Bessie Williams, her brother, Pearle Lewis and Mrs. Lewis and other relatives including Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Williams, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Goode.
