JOHN MAHER, Cumming Died Friday At 64

John Maher, prominent farmer in the Cumming community, died last Friday at his home east of Cumming of a heart ailment. He had been ill two days. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Maher was born in Madison County and had spent all his life in the Cumming neighborhood.

Surviving are his son, John Maher, Jr., of Cumming, two daughters, Mrs. Cyril Swift of Cumming and Ella Frances Maher of Denver, Colo.; a brother, William Maher of Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. George Meisner, Mrs. Bridget Ryan and Catherine Maher, all of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday from St. John's Catholic church in Cumming, and burial was made in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lee township.
