Lyle Lloyd Givan, 76, of Eads, died Aug. 30 in Aurora. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area B. Mr. Gavin was born in Winterset, Iowa, on Jan. 20, 1924. He married Doris Dudley, 1948.

He was a retired engineer for Mountain Bell. He served in the Army and received a Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include sons Carl of Thornton, Dale of Colorado Springs, Randall of Englewood; daughter Kathryn Wagner of Morrison; and six grandchildren.

Lyle Lloyd Givan of Eads, a retired Mountain Bell engineer, died Wednesday in Aurora. He was 76. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area B.

He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Winterset, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals.

On Oct. 2, 1948, he married Doris Dudley in Panora, Iowa. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sons, Carl E., Thornton, Dale R., Colorado Springs, and Randall D., Englewood; a daughter, Kathryn A. Wagner, Morrison; and six grandchildren.

Lyle Lloyd Givan, 76, of Eads, Colo., died of cancer Aug. 30, 2000, at Aurora Care Center in Aurora, Colo.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Colo. A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Methodist Church in Eads.

Lyle Givan was born Jan. 20, 1924, in rural Madison County to Lloyd and Rose (Sawyer) Givan. He was a 1941 graduate of Winterset High School and an Army veteran of World War II, during which he received the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals. He married Doris Dudley on Oct. 2, 1948 in Panora. Following their marriage, they resided in Dallas, Texas, later moving to Denver. Lyle was a retired engineer of Mountain Bell. He also farmed. In 1996, following retirement, he moved to Eads.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

He is survived by three sons, Carl Givan (wife Rhonda) of Thornton, Colo., Dale Givan (wife Pam) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Randy Givan (wife Elizabeth) of Englewood, Colo.; a daughter, Kathryn Wagner (husband Dan) of Morrison, Colo; a brother, David Givan (wife Grace) of Parker, Colo.; a sister, Rosalie Haymond (husband Rex) of Winterset; and six grandchildren.
