Services for Carl C. Givan, 78, Macksburg, who died March 27 at the Care Center South, were held Saturday, March 30 at the Macksburg Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Ganzel officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery.
Born in Madison county on March 22, 1907, he was the son of Robert and Ada McFarland Givan. He was a lifetime resident and had farmed before retiring in 1965.
He was a member of the Eagles at Creston and the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. On Oct. 4, 1940, he married Ethel Evans in Missouri.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Lou Gaskins of Altoona, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and seven sisters.
