Alice M. Eivins, a resident of the Macksburg community since 1891, died last Friday at her home there at the age of 70 years.

Miss Eivins was the daughter of John and Evelyn Eivins, and was born in Clarke county on April 1, 1876, the ninth child in a family of 12. As a child she moved with her parents to Union county, in 1886, where they lived until coming to Madison county in 1891. This county had since been her home, with the exception of two years spent with her brothers in Nebraska.

She was affiliated with the Macksburg Methodist church where she was long an active worker.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sophronia Bates, and three brothers, Isaac, Elmer, and Wesley Eivins.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader of Winterset. Burial was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
