WALTER GEORGE DIES AT 94 YEARS

Had Been Member of Masonic Order for More Than Half Century

Walter W. George, a well-known retired farmer who had lived most of his life in Madison county, died at a Winterset nursing home Thursday, Nov. 24, at the age of 94 years.

Mr. George was a native of Illinois, where he was born May 21, 1866, a son of Francis and Ellen Kipp George.

He was married in 1885 to Eugenia Bard. She preceded him in death. In 1947 he was married to Martha F. Meyers, who survives him.

Mr. George was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are a son, Lloyd George of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren. A daughter, Mabel Brock, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery with Masonic ritual.
