Martha Minerva Koboldt, 87, died March 30, 2005. Wayne I. Koboldt, 86, died April 2, 2005. Martha and Wayne were longtime residents of rural Earlham.
Funeral services were held jointly on Monday, April 4, at the Earlham Friends Church with Pastors Linda Burnett and Keith Smith officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.
Martha Koboldt was born March 10, 1918, to Frank and Olive (DeVault) Wilson of rural Earlham. She attended rural schools, graduating from Earlham Community School in 1936. Wayne Koboldt was born June 5, 1918, to Harry and Martha (Allen) Koboldt of rural Boone County. He also was a 1936 graduate of Earlham Community School. On June 5, 1939, Martha and Wayne were united in marriage. They resided in the Earlham area for 65 years, 55 of those years were spent on the family farm west of Earlham. They also were lifetime members of the Earlham Friends Church, where Martha was active as a Sunday school teacher.
They are survived by two daughters, Betty Easley and Nancy Basart, both of Earlham; one son, Bruce Koboldt of Earlham; and seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Martha also is survived by a sister, Helen Ludwick of Earlham, and a brother, Floyd Wilson of Apache Junction, Ariz. Wayne also is survived by three sisters, Mae Martens and Amy Leggett, both of Winterset, and Nina Davis of Oskaloosa. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Spencer and Pearl Koboldt, and a brother, Earl Koboldt.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham and Redfield.
