Page 6Graveside services for Stanley C. Berg of Ankeny, a former local druggist, were held last Friday afternoon at the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Berg died Wednesday, July 24 at his home in Ankeny, following a two year illness with cancer and heart disease. He was 59 years of age.
A native of Chicago, he lived in Winterset for a period of 20 years, operating the former Madison County Drug on the north side of the square. He moved to Ankeny eight years ago where he was associated with the Cory Appliance store.
He was a member of V.F.W. post 8142 in Winterset.
Surviving are his mother, Selma Berg of Chicago; his wife, Mary Ellen Berg of Ankeny; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Yach and Mrs. Susan Freeman, both of Ankeny; a son, William Berg of Ankeny; three grandchildren; and a brother, Gordon Berg of Chicago.
Funeral services for Mr. Berg were held last Friday afternoon from the Ankeny Funeral Home.

The out of town relatives and friends who were here Saturday afternoon for the burial services for Stanley Berg, a former Winterset resident who had died at this Ankeny home last Wednesday morning, were as follows: Mrs. Selma Berg and son, Gordon Berg, and son Kenneth of Chicago, John M. Creger of Northbrook, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson of Itasca, Illinois, and Jack McClure of Kansas City, ------------- Freeman and daughters, Pamela and Angela and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Yack and son, Steven.
Following a graveside service a group served a lunch at the American Legion Hall for friends and relatives.
