Former Winterset Resident Was Watchmaker Here for 47 Years

Funeral services for F. A. Garretson, former Winterset resident, who died June 13 at Whitefish, Mont., were held June 17 from the Catron funeral home there, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Wilmer of the Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Whitefish cemetery.

Mr. Garretson was born in Winterset, Oct. 17, 1869, and lived most of his 77 years of life here. He was the son of Judge N. W. and Anna Harlan Garretson. For 47 years he worked as a watchmaker and jeweler in Winterset. He was a member of the First Baptist church here. He was long active in community musical activities in Winterset.

He was married Sept. 13, 1897 to Annette Perkins. They were the parents of one son.

Surviving are his wife; the son, Earl Garretson of Whitefish; and a brother, R. H. Garretson of Des Moines.
