Graveside services for Russell R. Garrett, 60, of Arcadia, Wis., but formerly of Macksburg, who died Dec. 29 at Arcadia, were held Jan. 2 at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg. Officiating was the Rev. Mary Ann Bernard of the United Methodist Church, Lorimor.
Born Sept. 21, 1926 at Afton, he was the son of Russell and Martha Grandfield Garrett. He lived most of his life in the Creston and Macksburg areas but lived in Arcadia for the past 17 years.
He was a carpenter and served in the Navy during World War II from 1944-46 in the Pacific. He was married to Lucille McKee and was married a second time to Irene Schultz.
Survivors include sons, Jim of Indianola, Gary of Patterson, and Lonnie and Lennie, both of Arcadia; daughters, DeLynne Beverlin of Winterset, and Lori and Lisa, both of Arcadia; his mother, Mrs. Martha Garrett of Winterset; brothers, Marvin and wife Harriet of Macksburg, Donald and wife Norma of Prole and Robert of Kinston, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his father.
