ELMA LEEPER Died Friday

Elma S. Leeper, the daughter of Alpha and Linda Bertholf Callison, was born June 9, 1897 in Madison County and died July 21, 1978 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was a lifetime resident of Madison county.

On April 2, 1919, she was united in marriage to Carroll Leeper. They farmed in Penn township from 1925 to 1954 and then moved to Earlham. During those years, she was a member of Early Chapel Church.

Survivors include sons Lyle of Earlham and Gail of Winterset, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; also her brothers Dale and Ire Callison of Winterset.

Services were held July 23 at the Earlham Church of Christ. Pastor Bernard Zylstra officiated. Interment was at the Earlham Cemetery.

Obituary

Elma Leeper, the daughter of Alpha and Linda Bertholf Callison, was born June 9, 1897 in Madison County, Iowa, and passed away July 21, 1978 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset at the age of 81. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

On April 2, 1919 she was united in marriage to Carroll Leeper. They spent their life together farming, living on their farm in Penn Township from 1925 to 1954 when they moved to Earlham. During these years she was a long-time member of Early Chapel church.

Carroll and Elma were the parents of three sons: Lyle of Earlham, Gail of Winterset and Corneil, who preceded his mother in death in 1971. Her husband Carroll also preceded her in death in February of this year.

Survivors include sons Lyle and Gail, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; also her two brothers, Dale and Ire Callison of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Earlham Church of Christ with Pastor Bernard Zylstra officiating. Casket bearers were Lester Boyle, Kenneth Callison, Lloyd Clague, Roy Harris, Larree Imboden and Russell Leeper. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
