Alvina Mae Garmon, Truro

Funeral services for Alvina Mae Garmon, 65, will be held Thurs., May 14 at 2:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, Indianola with the Rev. Paul Sandgren officiating. Visitation will be held a Kale Funeral Home, Truro, starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Garmon died of cancer on May 11 at her rural Truro home.

She was born November 15, 1926 to Jake and Gertrude Temple in Fulton, Ill. She attended school in Fulton, Ill. and at Zion Bible School. She married C. E. "Buzz" Garmon on November 24, 1962 in Indianola. She was the secretary for First Assembly of God Church in Indianola where she was a member and had worked previously at Meredith Corp. Des Moines for 23 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister

Surviving are her husband; her father of Savannah, Ill.; a stepson, John Garmon and wife, Sharon of Truro; a step-daughter, Linda Cox Biddle and husband, Ray, of Norwalk; three brothers, Gerald Temple and Delbert Temple, both of Clinton, Jake Temple Jr. of Fulton, Ill.; a sister, Marge Temple of Fulton, Ill.; three step-grandchildren; and four great-step-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Blair Chapel Cemetery, St. Charles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa.
