Evelyn E. Fritz, Winterset

Services for Evelyn E. Fritz, 79, Winterset, who died Nov. 30 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Menlo on Dec. 16, 1906, she was the daughter of Edward and Lida Reed Cox. She was married to LeRoy Fritz in Menlo on Dec. 31, 1929.

A homemaker, she had lived here since 1962, after moving from Greenfield. She was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, worked for 20 years at the Madison County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the hospital auxiliary. Mrs. Fritz was a Drake University graduate and had taught school at Stuart and Marengo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dean Fritz of Winterset; daughters, Rosalie J. Amos of Ames and Marcia J. Lamaak of Odebolt; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
