Earlham Library Obituaries, December 1929
Earlham, Iowa

Christina Johanna Anderson daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Peter Anderson was born in Sweden in 1844 and departed this life December 3, 1929, her age being 85 years. When a young woman about twenty years of age she came to the city of Chicago, where she lived for about thirty-two years. About thirty-three years ago she came to Earlham.

She had one brother and one sister living near Earlham. Her sister Mary lived with her for three years dying in the year 1900. Her brother Charlie died in 1915. Those who are left to mourn her loss are one half brother E. W. Anderson, Earlham, and a nephew Carl Anderson, of Nevinville, Iowa. One sister Mrs. Gilda Wickner and niece Olga Wickner, in Sweden: and one nephew E. A. Anderson, Earlham, and a number of friends.

She was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church.

She loved to read her Swedish Bible, talk about the future life, and pray for guidance out into the unknown journey. For a number of years she was an invalid and was ministered to by loving hands and hearts.

Quietly in the early morning hours weary and tired she folded her hands across her brest (breast) and without a murmur her spirit winged its way back to God. She is not dead she is only asleep.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon by A. N. Simpson, pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.
