Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. from the Earlham Presbyterian Church for Marcia Cook Frey, 83, who died Thursday, January 6, 1977, at Madison Manor North in Winterset.
She was born in Winterset on April 24, 1893, the daughter of Arthur L. and Anna Cook.
Mrs. Frey was married to Harry R. Frey on February 20, 1913. They were residents of a farm south of Earlham for 48 years. The couple had four children.
Mrs. Frey was a member of the Presbyterian church in Earlham and served terms as deaconess and willing worker. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Three Link Club, Study and Social Club, Friendly Circle, American Legion Auxiliary and Over 60 Club.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Loyal Werts of Winterset and Mrs. Earl Anker of Earlham, also a son, Harold Frey of Earlham, plus 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Frey was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, an infant daughter and her husband, Harry, who died in 1961.
Mrs. Frey was a resident of Earlham after her husband's death until 1975 when she moved to Winterset.

Obituary
Marcia Cook Frey, daughter of Arthur L. and Anna Cook, was born in Winterset, Iowa on April 24, 1893 and died at Madison Manor North on January 6, 1977 at the age of 83 years, 8 months and thirteen days.
On February 20, 1913 she was united in marriage to Harry R. Frey and moved to the farm south of Earlham where they resided for 48 years. To this union four children were born.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Earlham and served as a willing worker in the church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Three Link Club, Study and Social Club, Friendly Circle, Legion Auxiliary and Over 60 Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, an infant daughter and her husband Harry who died in 1961. After her husband’s death she moved to Earlham where she resided until 1975. A disabling stroke caused her to reside at Madison Manor North till her death.
Those surviving are her two daughters; Mrs. Loyal Werts of Winterset, Mrs. Earl Anker and one son Harold Frey of Earlham. There are eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren who will miss a loving Grandma; also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
