Lorraine Annabell “Mickie” Wickett, 95, died Jan. 17, 2005, at Westview of Indianola Care Center.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 20, at Grace Baptist Church in New Virginia with Pastors Roger Hemmings and Gary Morris officiating. Burial was at New Virginia Cemetery.

Mickie Wickett was born March 3, 1909, to James and Mary (Huglin) Luke of St. Charles. She attended country school in rural St. Charles. On June 14, 1928, in Madrid, she married Virgil Wickett. They resided on a farm east of New Virginia until retiring in 1977. At that time, they moved to the New Virginia Manor. Mickie was a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Virginia.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William James Wickett and Larry Jean Wickett; two brothers, Rex Luke and Neal Luke; and two sisters, Ruby Binder and Fern Picken.

She is survived by one grandson, Gary Wickett of Milo; one granddaughter, Angela Fry of Des Moines; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grace Baptist Church in New Virginia.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
