LUELLA WHITWORTH, Winterset

Funeral services for Luella Whitworth, 89, were held Sat., March 7, 1992, at Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Van Holland officiating. A Rebecca Lodge service followed the funeral service. Mrs. Whitworth died March 5 at Bethesda Care Center, where she was a resident.

She was born December 21, 1902 in Wright County near Belmond to Marvin Christie and Minnie (Patrick) Whitworth and married Earle Whitworth May 1926 in Clarion. She moved to Madison County in 1927 from Belmond. She was a homemaker, retired Macksburg school teacher, member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Rebecca Hawthorne Lodge.

Mrs. Whitworth was preceded in death by her husband, a son, three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving is a son, Alan K. Whitworth of Cedar Rapids, and a grandson.

Collins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Moon Cemetery.
