DELBERT CAMERON DIES AT 34 YEARS

Young Veteran of Recent War Stricken By Heart Attack

Delbert E. Cameron, formerly of Madison county, died suddenly Wednesday, May 24 at his home in Des Moines, of a heart ailment. He was 34 years of age.

Mr. Cameron was born near Macksburg March 14, 1916, a son of Elmer and Rosella Pinckney Cameron. Much of his early life was spent near Scranton, where he graduated from high school. He returned to Madison county for several years, prior to his entry into military service for World War II.

He spent 33 months in the U.S. Army Engineers during the war, serving overseas in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines. After the war he attended the Kansas City school of watchmaking, graduating in 1948. Since then he had been employed at Plumb's Jewelry in Des Moines.

He was married June 6, 1948, to Margaret Tyer Cameron, who survives him. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Rosella Cameron of Ankeny; two brothers, Alvin Cameron of Patterson and Paul Cameron of Scranton; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Gulbranson of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Highland Park Funeral home in Des Moines, and burial, with graveside services, were held at Winterset.
